Critter Brain is an American skate/thrash punk band formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 2023. Each member has been involved in the local music city scene in some way over the last two decades, through multiple different bands and projects. Critter Brain came together as a sort of "dream team" collaboration when singer David Doughtie was inspired to start writing again, after a few years hiatus. The band was meant to be an outlet for dealing with some heavy emotions surfacing around the loss of an incredible friend and inspiration, Abe Messaris (El Escapado).

Critter Brain likes to hit hard on topics related to mental health, politics, society, and of course shreddin on a skateboard. Musically, we think of ourselves as raw and unapologetic - writing and creating exactly what we want.

The name Critter Brain is a reference to symptoms of racing or interrupting thoughts, that can be hard to shut off or ignore.
